The Hampton Police Division has arrested Aubrey Armand Hamilton in connection with a larceny and fraud investigation that occurred on April 10, 2017.
On April 10, 2017, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the victim, a 38-year-old Hampton man, made a purchase at the Goodwill Retail Store. After making the purchase and responding out to his vehicle, the victim noticed that he had left his cell phone and case, which contained his identification, credit cards, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, behind in the store. The victim responded back inside of the Goodwill Retail Store in search of his phone but could not locate it.
Almost immediately after discovering the items missing, the victim's credit card was utilized at the Game Stop located in the 2300 block of McMenamin Street and the Target retail store located in the 5000 block of Holt Avenue.
Surveillance video from the Target was reviewed and it was discovered that the suspect utilized the victim's credit card to make an unauthorized purchase from the Target retail store. After making the unauthorized purchase this suspect exited the Target and left from the scene in a white in color Honda Fit.
Aubrey Armand Hamilton, a 30-year-old Newport News man, was arrested in connection to this incident. He was charged with one count of Grand Larceny, one count of Credit Card Theft, and one count of Credit Card Fraud.
