The Hampton Police Division has arrested Jaysun Jaquan Stewart, in connection with a Robbery from Person Investigation that occurred on April 12, 2017.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Maplewood Street, in reference to a robbery from person complaint that had occurred. Upon officers arrival on scene they met with the victim, a 52-year-old Hampton man, that relayed that while in the 100 block of Maplewood Street he was approached by an unknown male subject.
The suspect displayed a firearm and demanded personal property from the victim. The victim complied with the suspect's demands. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the victim the suspect fled from the area and was last observed heading down Maplewood Street towards West Queen Street.
As a result of the investigation Jaysun Jaquan Stewart, an 18-year-old Newport News man with a last known address in the 300 block of Roseman Court, has been arrested and charged with one count of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and one count of Robbery.
