The Hampton Police Division has arrested Jacolby Nicholas Kee, in connection with a vehicle pursuit that occurred on April 10, 2017.
At approximately 5:29 p.m., a Hampton police officer attempted to stop a 2006 Ford 4-door sedan for reckless driving in the area of LaSalle Avenue and Kecoughtan Road. A traffic stop of the suspect was attempted; however, the suspect vehicle failed to comply and a vehicle pursuit then ensued.
A short time later the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Settlers Landing Road and LaSalle Avenue and the driver was apprehended. Prior to the driver being apprehended and after crashing at the intersection, the driver began discarding items from the vehicle. Responding officers collected a handgun and illegal narcotics that were discarded from the vehicle. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
As a result of the pursuit, Jacolby Nicholos Kee, a 24-year-old Hampton man with a last known address in the 800 block of Sheffield Street, has been charged with one count of Reckless Driving, one count of Evading and Eluding Police, one count of Failure to Maintain Control, one count of Possession of Marijuana, and one count of Reckless Handling of a Firearm. Kee remains in custody of the Hampton City Jail.
